Gonvarri Agrotech at NaciónBerries: driving the growth of blueberry cultivation in Colombia

The NaciónBerries fair, held in Bogotá on April 8 and 9, was a key milestone for Gonvarri Agrotech in its expansion strategy across Latin America. Over two dynamic days, our team showcased innovative solutions for blueberry cultivation, connected with industry professionals, and reaffirmed our commitment to sustainable intensive agriculture.

Colombia: A growing market for blueberries

Colombia is entering a pivotal phase in the development of its blueberry industry. According to Forbes Colombia, the country currently has 650 hectares of blueberry crops, but projections estimate a growth to 3,000–5,000 hectares by 2026—a remarkable 669% increase. This expansion is driven by the potential of new cultivation zones in Antioquia, Cauca, Eje Cafetero, and Nariño, alongside established regions like Bogotá and Boyacá.

In 2024, Colombia exported over 628,000 kg of blueberries, valued at more than USD 3.3 million. With increased cultivated areas and a differentiated product quality, exports are expected to rise significantly, positioning Colombia as a key supplier to markets in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Technical solutions for efficient agriculture

At Gonvarri Agrotech, we are committed to supporting this growth with specialized infrastructure. Our greenhouses for blueberry production are designed to meet the demands of intensive cultivation, offering durability, efficiency, and adaptability to local conditions.

Participating in NaciónBerries allowed us to validate our technical approach, listen directly to the needs of Colombian growers, and return with fresh ideas and renewed goals to continue delivering value.
